Wonder Balm Organic Moisturiser and Cleanser
Our organic cleansing balm and moisturiser repairs and restores, leaving you with a softer complexion, hydrated skin, and a radiant, healthy glow. Soothe skin sensitivities as well as conditions stemming from the menopause and other hormonal changes
Each hand-poured jar contains a formula of:
- Three organic plant-based oils
- Two nourishing and antioxidant-packed butters
- Beeswax for its amazing healing benefits
- A carefully selected blend of essential oils
As well as nourishing the skin, the oils we have chosen for our Wonder Balm enhance the overall sensory experience. Clary sage and geranium are traditionally valued for their uplifting aroma, while lemon and mandarin bring a refreshing touch to the skin. Revered for centuries, frankincense and myrrh are cherished in skincare rituals for their ability to support a healthy, radiant complexion.
How long will it last before I need more?
50ml will last 12 weeks and 25ml lasts 6 weeks with normal usage, once a day as a cleanser. If you love our balm and use it for cleansing, moisturising and many other purposes you may wish to top-up sooner!
Benefits
Benefits
Menopause and Itchy Skin
A decrease in oestrogen levels means skin can often be itchy, tight or even
feel like it’s ‘crawling’. The face, chest, back, neck and limbs are all common
areas to feel this sensation.
Menopause and Skin Rash
Skin rash is often linked to menopause. It can vary in intensity,
appearance and duration. Indeed, it’s because of a particularly nasty facial
rash that Wonder Balm now exists
Hormonal Imbalance and Extremely Dry Skin
Oestrogen retains water. When levels decrease, so too does our skin’s ability
to retain maintain moisture. The result – fine lines, deeper wrinkles and a
‘crepey’ texture.
Hormonal Acne
Often associated with adolescence and puberty as a result of hormonal
fluctuation. However, it can affect adults at almost any age. During puberty,
this might be more prevalent around the t-zone, whereas later in life it might
be more present on the lower part of the face.
Hormonal Skin Pigmentation
Also known as ‘melasma’ or even ‘the mask of pregnancy’, these are brown,
or grey-brown splotches that can appear across various parts of the face.
Melasma can sometimes be triggered in pregnant women as a result of hormonal
increases.
Wrinkled Skin and Signs of Ageing
Collagen is responsible for maintaining skin strength & elasticity.
From our mid-20s, our body’s ability to produce collagen begins to reduce.
Menopause has a particularly negative impact on its production, making the skin thinner and partial to wrinkles and sagging.

FAQ
Is the Franchine Young Wonder Balm certified organic skincare?
Absolutely it is! All our ingredients are organic, non GM and where possible raw and unrefined.
How natural are all the ingredients?
We can assure you they are 100% of natural origin – please scroll down this page for the full list of ingredients.
What is the difference between a balm and a cream?
As we see it, a balm is a substance that tends to be thicker than cream and is solely oil based. A cream tends to be a mix of oils and water and lighter in substance.
Is the Wonder Balm a cleanser or a moisturiser?
It is versatile enough to act as either a cleanser or moisturiser – or even as both! It depends on your skin and your skin’s needs.
Someone with naturally greasy skin is likely to find it best suited as a cleanser only and perhaps a evening balm 2 / 3 nights per week (use sparingly); the oils remove make-up and even mascara – but it might be too much for their skin to also serve as a moisturiser, especially for day wear under make-up.
Someone with drier or normal skin however, might use it as both a cleanser and a moisturiser
How do I apply Wonder Balm?
As a moisturiser:
Take a pea sized amount with clean fingertips – allow balm to melt and apply to clean dry skin – massaging onto the face and neck. Tip #1 (Franchine likes to use a jade facial roller).
As a cleanser:
Take a pea sized amount with clean fingertips – allow balm to melt and apply to clean dry skin – massaging onto the face and neck, working well into heavy or stubborn make-up such as mascara. Wipe away with a hand hot cloth (Franchine likes to use an organic muslin facial cloth).
How often should I use it?
First thing in the morning after washing your face with plain water (and if preferred a spray of facial toner). Tip #3 (Franchine likes to use organic rosewater).
At bedtime to cleanse away dirt, grime and make-up, reapplied as an evening balm (if applicable).
How much should I apply each time?
Experiment! A little goes a long way – we recommend a pea-sized amount. As the product warms it spreads very easily and skin will begin to absorb it quite quickly.
So is this product just for the face?
No, you can use Wonder Balm on any sensitive, dry, trouble skin spots around the body. Obviously the surface size though will dictate just how much you need.
Why is the product more or less solid?
Balms are primarily oil based and so react to external room temperatures quite quickly. This does not diminish the balm in anyway. Keep out of direct sunlight. In a cooler environment the balm will naturally lightly solidify. Our balm has no added chemicals or preservatives.
Is this organic balm specifically made for women going through menopause?
Although Franchine developed the balm as a result of her skin’s reaction to menopausal changes, it is by no means limited to menopausal skin. We believe it is best placed to care for skin that is in some kind of state of change (see below)
What skin does this balm suit best?
Skin that appears to respond best to the balm is ideally undergoing change of some sort. That could be skin changing as a result of puberty, pregnancy, menopause, or as a result of other factors such as seasonal changes, lifestyle changes, etc.
